This is one of the early attempts at mushroom casting. I didn't dry the plaster enough before pouring the aluminum, causing the aluminum to bubble when casting. As a result there are rough parts to the cast and the stem is hollow, with parts where you can see through it. I filled the bottom of the hollow stem with casting resin to give a solid surface to mount the mushroom to the base.

The base is made from purpleheart cut in the shape of a reuleaux triangle. The finish is Gloss Polyurethane.
