This is one of the early attempts at mushroom casting. I was experimenting with different ways to dry the plaster cast before pouring the aluminum, and this one cracked during the drying process. Since it wasn't completely falling apart I taped it up before casting to keep it from breaking apart (see the casting video).

The base is yellowheart on the top and purpleheart on the bottom cut in the shape of a reuleaux triangle. The finish is satin polyurethane.
