I thought this was actually a carpenter ant colony because the colony and ants looked like carpenter ants to my untrained eye (at the time). I was surprised that it didn't look similar to the other carpenter ant colonies that I've done. Only after identifying and casting a few field ant colonies did I realize that this was one too.

Before this cast was mounted, it was part of the Double je exhibit at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, France during 2016.
